I love it when Laura Kaye give us a gift. At least, that's the way I see it.

The Hard Ink series is one of my favorites. It has so many great characters. All of them play a part in the story arc the series had. Ex-military guys wrongly accused who are trying to clear their names and honor and now after everything that went down in the last book, they are finally free to love without thinking they are under attack.

Nick is ready to move forward. He wants Becca in his life permanently and asking her to marry him is the first step in securing a future with her. Nick loves her more than he can say. He can't wait for her to become his wife.

Becca is finally breathing easy. After months of being on leave, she's going back to work and to her routine. Except, now she has a family in the friendships she made while the guys were trying to keep them alive. She couldn't be happier to plan a wedding with the man she loves and having her friends there during that special time with them is just a bonus. That is until a man from her past comes back to haunt her.

Hard Ever After had all the ingredients I have come to love in this series. The great camaraderie from the guys, the great support within the friends, romance, and of course loads of action.

I'm just so happy Laura gave us one more glimpse at this awesome group of people. It is very hard to let them go but seeing them happy is a step in the right direction.

--One Sentence Summary--
Things were finally starting to return to normal for Nick and Becca, and a wedding is on the horizon, but Becca can't shake the feeling that she's being watched.

--What are the Issues--
This is a novella follow up to the Hard Ink series, so it's a little different. Everything is great between Nick and Becca but there are outside forces causing problems. Everyone has been living in crisis mode and returning to normal has been tough. Not only that, but Becca is struggling with some lingering PTSD after her attack at the hospital.

--What I Liked and Didn’t Liked--
Nick and Becca -- From the very beginning, Nick and Becca have been my favorite couple and I was so happy to get more time with them as well as seeing everyone in the group. Nick was his usual tough but super sweet self and I love how he is with Becca and how he cherishes everything about her. This couple epitomizes the idea of supporting each other and being a rock for each other.

Final Closure -- Although we got a lot of closure in Hard to Let Go it was great to see everyone again. We also get to see the new normal that the group has, their upcoming security business, renovating the Hard Ink building into apartments for everyone, and moving on in each of their relationships.

--Final Thoughts--
I loved getting more of the Hard Ink series because this was one series that I really didn't want to end.

Hear, hear! To Nick and Becca indeed! When Laura Kaye announced this special wedding novella and allowed the fans to vote on which Hard Ink couple to feature, I was torn. I loved all of them and would love to see all of their weddings, but I think the fans chose correctly when they voted Nick and Becca to receive the honors. It sort of brings everything back full circle since they were the ones that started it all and brought together this amazing group of characters that became like family to me as I read the series last year. All of the love and feelings that this series brought out of me at that time came flooding back as soon as I started reading this. Laura Kaye was sure to include all of the things we loved about this series in this novella, giving it a wonderfully nostalgic feel. And true to form, this book featured plenty of scorching hot scenes and a suspenseful subplot that’ll keep you flipping pages!

This group fought hard to get to this point and I couldn’t be happier for Nick and Becca and all of the other awesome updates we got on the rest of the gang. You’ll fall even more in love with these characters as they prove yet again what an amazing group of guys and gals they are and what an amazing family-by-choice that they’ve created for themselves. It warms my heart to think of where they are now versus where they started. The wedding itself was beautiful and if this truly is how we have to say goodbye to the Hard Ink crew then I couldn’t have asked for a better way to go (but for the record, I wouldn’t be mad if a few other novellas popped up in the future, hint, hint)! If you are a fan of this series, you do not want to miss this one! Thank you Laura Kaye for giving the fans this one last glimpse into the lives of some of our favorite characters!
